Cycling in San Francisco

Today, December 28th, my friend Luis and I took the ferry from Vallejo to San Francisco and then spend the day cycling down the Embarcadero, acroos the Golden Gate Bridge and back, over to Highway 1 and the Ocean, then through Golden Gate Park and back to the Ferry. It was a fun day and a nice tune up for New Zealand -- only five more days until I leave.

The Day after Christmas

We had a most enjoyable Christmas day. It was very relaxed just Kathleen, Tom and I at home. Tom and I had a nice bike ride since the weather was pretty favorable. Here you see Santa's helper delivering a gift.

Ready for Christmas

It's Christmas eve, and we are all settled in awaiting the arrival of Tom (this afternoon) and Santa (tonight -- although we have already exchanged our gifts). Merry Christmas to all.

First Posting

I am experimenting with this new blog as a replacement for my old webpage which, sad to say, has not been updated in years. I am hoping that I will have sufficient internet access while cycling in New Zealand in January 2010 that I will be able make at least a few postings to keep folks apprised of my adventures. Feel free to check for updates after January 5th -- no promises, however.

Meanwhile, as we approach Christmas (only two more days), here is a picture of our favorite Santa Claus. Grandson Sammy will be eighteen months old on Christmas day.
